Everything you need to host the best trivia nights

  • Check out our handy How-To Video on YouTube

Our packs are available to download digitally and include:

    • PowerPoint slides

    • Q&A booklet for the host

    • Answer booklets to print for teams to write on

    • A marketing poster template to help you promote trivia night at your establishment

  • Aside from our comprehensive pack, you’ll need some basic equipment to host an engaging trivia night.

    • Microphone + speakers

    • A host! (We recommend inviting an extroverted staff member to do the honours)

    • A TV screen or projector to display questions

  • Word-of-mouth goes a long way, but you can also create a Facebook Event and invite all of your followers.

We’d advise to put up posters around your establishment, so that loyal customers know when to come. We include a poster template in our trivia packs.

Keeping a pinned post at the top of your Facebook/Instagram page will also help people remember the next Trivia night.

  • Trivia is a great way to make a quiet night at the bar not-so-quiet. Trivia attendees are known to stay about 3 hours and order more food and beverages than usual guests. So be prepared to bring on an extra staff member or two to accomodate this.

Trivia goers are usually aged 20–50, with particular popularity among the 30-somethings. Teams are usually 2–6 people, so make sure your space accommodates this.

  • You can choose what prize is most appropriate for your establishment, but keep it small and simple.

We find one of the best approaches is to funnel people’s attention back to your establishment:

    • 1st place: $50–$75 gift card to your bar

    • 2nd place: $25 gift card to your bar

    • Small bonus prizes (free appetizer or drinks, merch, etc.)

Avoid high cash payouts or any overly large prizes – these take the fun away and may attract the wrong kind of crowd. They also cost more than you need to spend.
